To me, prayer plays an important part in helping me to draw closer to my God. To Him I bring praise & thanksgiving, all my joys and also my failures, disappointments and concerns. When I leavve Him, I am filled with even more thankfulness for His forgiveness, understanding, & His love and peace that have have invaded my being - a filling of awe at His greatness.
I have faith that my every prayer is answered, although not always in the way I have imagined - sometimes His answer is 'wait' or 'no' if my request is not according to what he wants for me.
I don't have a prayer journal (although I think they are a good idea) but I rely on the Holy Spirit to bring to mind who & what I should be praying for. However, if I have been asked to pray especially for someone, I write a reminder for myself.
My main prayer time is when I go to bed at night. Once I could kneel beside the bed but age & my old knees prevent this now. So sometimes my prayers are cut short because I fall asleep, but I think this is a lovely way to finish each day - talking to my God!
