Activity: For Mark 6:1-6 Have paper and pencils or pens for everybody. Ask people to write, draw or doodle their reactions as you read Mark 6:1-6 from your usual translation and then from the Message. Then discuss the following questions: 1. What does it feel like to be rejected? 2. Why did the Nazareth people reject Jesus? 3. How, even as Christians, do we sometimes reject Jesus? Activity for 2 Samuel 6:1-5,12-19 David & all Israel celebrated before the Lord with songs & music. Have a family time of singing your favourite hymns or songs to God. Read 2 Samuel 7:1-16. God loves us the same as it says in v15. To remind us of this take a strip of paper, twist the strip one time & tape the 2 ends together. Take a pen and draw a line on the strip, do not lift the pen from the paper. You'll find you've made a line on both sides. Keep this magic strip to remind you that you are marked as someone God loves, & that love continues forever. Use Ephesians 3:14-21 to pray for members of your family. |
